Manus Bio scientists have published an article entitled “Overcoming heterologous protein interdependency to optimize P450-mediated Taxol precursor synthesis in Escherichia coli.” The paper was published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (http://www.pnas.org/content/113/12/3209.long).

Through this work, Manus Bio scientists demonstrate key insights for optimizing oxygenation chemistry for the synthesis of complex plant-based ingredients and achieve the highest reported titer of oxygenated precursors for Taxol production. “These results underscore the importance of an integrated approach combining metabolic engineering, synthetic biology, and deep strain characterization for commercial strain development,” says Dr. Ajikumar Parayil, Ph.D., Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Manus Bio.
